Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior qualitative research professional to lead end-to-end studies and provide strategic client guidance from proposal through debrief. You will manage budgets, timelines, and fieldwork across diverse methodologies, mentoring junior researchers and collaborating with cross-functional teams on mixed-method designs.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, deep qualitative expertise, and a proven ability to nurture client relationships.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in qualitative research, ideally in a research agency or consultancy setting.
• Deep knowledge of qualitative design, methods, logistics, and project management.
• Proven track record of building and nurturing client relationships.
• Exceptional moderating skills across methodologies, audiences, and categories.
• A proactive mindset — you anticipate challenges and identify opportunities.
• Strong analytical, language, and storytelling skills.
• Experience with AI tools for analysis or design is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, execution, and delivery of qualitative research studies — from proposal to debrief.
• Serve as the primary client contact, providing strategic guidance and insight-driven recommendations.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure profitability.
• Moderate focus groups, in-depth interviews, and workshops.
• Partner with qualitative team to ensure quality, efficiency, and creative excellence.
• Mentor junior researchers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on hybrid qual-quant design.
• Travel as needed for fieldwork and client engagements.
