Job summary

BIOVECTRA, now part of Agilent, Windsor, NS, seeks a QC Microbiology Supervisor to lead microbiology testing, investigations, and validations in a cGMP environment. You will drive environmental monitoring, CAPAs, and data integrity while collaborating with Manufacturing, QA, and Regulatory teams.

The role requires leadership of seasoned microbiology professionals, strong technical writing skills, and a proven track record in GMP/GLP settings to ensure audit readiness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Microbiology or related life sciences required.
• Master of Science (MSc) or PhD in Microbiology or related field preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of microbiology or related life sciences experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a GMP or GLP regulated environment.
• Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or leading technical personnel.
• Experience writing and reviewing technical documents including SOPs, protocols, validation reports, and investigation reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage QC Microbiology personnel responsible for microbiological testing, investigations, and environmental monitoring support.
• Establish departmental priorities and allocate resources to align with quality commitments.
• Coach and develop team members through mentoring, training, and performance management.
• Lead complex microbiological investigations including contamination events and CAPAs.
• Develop investigation strategies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Design and approve microbiological method validations and verifications per regulatory requirements.
• Review microbiology documentation including SOPs, protocols, and validation reports.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with cGMP and regulatory expectations.
