Job summary

Justice Technology Services (JTS) in Toronto is seeking a Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist to support the development of a modern digital information system and its integration with internal and external applications.

You will develop test plans, test cases, execute functional and unit testing, manage defects, coordinate UAT, and work with clients, developers, project managers and analysts throughout the SDLC. This onsite role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in defect tracking.
• Experience communicating defect status to project participants.
• Experience developing: Test plans, Test cases, Test scripts, Test data.
• Experience documenting software defects and tracking them through resolution.
• Demonstrated experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Experience leading initial UAT sessions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data for functional and system testing.
• Prepare and execute functional testing and unit testing and document results.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects and change requests through resolution.
• Use defect-tracking tools to communicate status and progress.
• Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Lead initial UAT sessions and assist stakeholders throughout the UAT process.
• Collaborate with clients, developers, PMs, business analysts, and technical teams to resolve defects.
• Maintain testing and issue-tracking documentation.
• Participate in all SDLC phases.
• Provide QA expertise to other project groups as required.
• Transfer knowledge to Project Manager and team members.
