Job summary

HCLTech in Vancouver seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to own end-to-end test automation across mobile apps (iOS, Android, native). You will coordinate with QA, product, and engineering, developing and maintaining robust automation code while adhering to best practices.

The role requires expert hands-on experience with at least 5 years in test automation, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with Selenium (Java/Python) and Jest. Onsite work five days a week is expected.

Qualifications

• Expert level with at least 5 years hands-on experience in end-to-end test automation.
• Strong logic and analytical skills.
• Mobile app automation for iOS, Android, and native apps.
• Experience with Jest or similar frameworks is a plus.
• Selenium with Java or Python experience; other automation tools welcome.

Responsibilities

• Automation POC for assigned scope.
• Coordinate automation with QA, product, and engineering teams.
• Develop and maintain automation code.
• Adhere to best practices to deliver reliable code.
• Identify blockers during exploratory 0→1 work.
• Monitor ROI and health of automated areas.
• Collaborate with client-dedicated teams to expand coverage.
• Drive issue resolution with cross-functional teams.
• Debug test framework issues.
• Search code for similar fixes.
• Provide reporting and status updates on automation.
• Escalate blockers and failures to SDET/engineers.
• Deliver clear and actionable bug reports.
