Aplin is seeking a Senior QA Analyst for an Edmonton, AB contract to lead end-to-end testing across medium to large initiatives. The role focuses on test planning, execution, defect management, and UAT, ensuring reliable releases and delivery confidence.

Candidates should bring 10+ years in QA, strong knowledge of Agile/Waterfall lifecycles, SQL validation, and API testing with tools like Postman. Collaboration with BAs, Developers, PMs, and stakeholders is essential for comprehensive coverage.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Quality Assurance experience on medium to large projects.
• Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall software lifecycles.
• Hands-on functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing with test planning/execution.
• Strong defect management including triage, tracking and root cause analysis.
• Experience with requirements traceability and test coverage management.
• SQL and database validation experience (SQL Server and/or Oracle preferred).
• API testing experience using Postman or similar tools.
• Experience with Jira XRay and/or Azure DevOps and familiarity with ServiceNow.
• Bonus: insurance/healthcare/financial services exposure; automation or performance testing; sole QA on enterprise projects.
• Excellent communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Quality Assurance experience with proven delivery of end to end testing on medium to large projects
• Strong understanding of software development and testing lifecycles in Agile and or Waterfall environments
• Hands on experience with functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing plus test planning and execution
• Strong defect management skills including triage, tracking, and root cause analysis
• Experience with requirements traceability and test coverage management
• SQL and database validation experience (SQL Server and or Oracle preferred)
• API testing experience using Postman or similar tools
• Experience with Jira XRay and or Azure DevOps and familiarity with ServiceNow
• Bonus: experience in insurance, healthcare, or financial services; exposure to automation frameworks or performance testing; experience as a sole QA resource on enterprise projects
• Excellent communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills
