Job summary

Europro is seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our accounting team at the corporate office in Toronto. The role focuses on general ledger, monthly close, and reporting for diversified real estate assets, including retail and office properties.

You will liaise with property managers and asset managers to ensure accurate financials and timely deliverables. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of property accounting experience, CPA consideration, and strong Excel/real estate

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA designation or active enrollment in CPA program is an asset.
• CPA designation or continuing CPA studies strongly valued.
• Experience in property accounting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Month-End/Recurring Journal Entries.
• Prepare quarterly reporting packages including statements and work papers.
• Intercompany charges and CAM/Tax billings processing.
• HST reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Assist with annual budget preparation.
• Coordinate with property and asset managers on financials.
• Review invoices and ensure accurate coding.

About the Position:

Europro is seeking an experienced, energetic, and detail-oriented candidate to join our accounting team as a Senior Property Accountant. This position offers an excellent growth and learning opportunity for a diligent, great team player with an interest in the real estate industry. The candidate will be working at our corporate office in Toronto.

Key Responsibilities:

• Month-End/Recurring Journal Entries
• Preparation of quarterly reporting packages (including financial statements, work papers and supporting schedules)
• Intercompany Charge Backs
• HST Reconciliations
• Bank Reconciliations
• Preparation of Annual Budget
• Preparation of Annual Final CAM and Tax Billings
• Preparation of Tenant/Vendor Chargebacks as needed
• Liaise with Property Managers and Asset Managers
• Review invoices and coding of expenses for accuracy
• Cash flow management and cash distributions when required

Job Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• CPA designation or active enrollment in the CPA program is an asset
• 3–5 years of relevant property accounting experience
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a demanding work environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with Property Managers, Asset Managers and other internal stakeholders
• Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word and accounting software packages
• Strong knowledge of real estate accounting principles and practicesس
• Experience with commercial real estate accounting is an asset
• Knowledge of Yardi Voyager is a major asset
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
