Job summary

Agilus by Synergie in Windsor, Ontario seeks a Senior Project & Operating Engineer to coordinate daily plant operations, support production schedules, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements. This role will facilitate cross-department communication to optimize plant performance and lead commissioning activities for capital projects.

Qualifications

• Certification as Operating/Stationary/Power Engineer (1st, 2nd or 3rd class) required.
• Proven experience in operations, construction and commissioning of a process plant.
• Valid G driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Assist Operations Manager and Shift Supervisors with manpower planning, scheduling, workflow management, daily plant operations, and regulatory testing.
• Monitor material and product inventories, coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams for stock levels.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in planning plant shutdowns, startups, and turnarounds with multiple departments.
• Serve as technical lead for process on capital projects with Engineering department support.
• Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for commissioning activities across multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control).

Education

1st/2nd/3rd class Operating/Stationary/Power Engineer Certification

Process plant operational, construction and commissioning experience

Valid G driver's license

This position is responsible for coordinating daily operations, supporting production schedules, maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and facilitating communication between departments to optimize plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure operations comply with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies and participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Assist Operations Manager and Shift Supervisors with Manpower planning, scheduling, workflow management, daily plant operations, process adjustments, and TSSA regulatory testing.
• Monitoring material and product inventories, coordinating with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in planning plant shutdowns, startups, and turnarounds in collaboration with operations, maintenance, and production departments.
• Technical lead for process on capital projects with assistance of the Engineering department.
• Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures and oversee all commissioning activities across multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control, and system integration (e.g., DCS/PLC).

Qualifications
