Job summary

NORR Architects Engineers Planners is seeking a Senior Project Manager to plan and manage transportation projects to meet contractual commitments on time and within budget. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, monitor performance, and forecast revenue with a focus on aviation and transit initiatives.

The role requires 15+ years of project experience, strong leadership, and a solid understanding of project accounting. NORR offers flexible work options and competitive compensation in Canada.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of project work experience.
  • Experience in Transportation projects - Aviation and Transit is an asset.
  • Experience with Airport Authorities, TTC, Metrolinx, etc is an asset.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of project accounting to forecast revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Define and negotiate project scope, work plans, schedules, and budgets for all stages.
  • Develop detailed work plans for architectural and engineering disciplines and monitor progress.
  • Lead an integrated team in QA/QC for deliverables including drawings and specs.
  • Maintain understanding of project scope and negotiate changes to meet client expectations.
  • Coordinate with contractors and authorities to address constructability and owner concerns.
  • Act as primary liaison with client, contractor, and project team to maintain relationships.

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to plan and manage projects to ensure that all contractual commitments are met on time and within budget. As a Project Manager, you will use your interpersonal and leadership skills and must have an understanding of project financials to determine the necessary resources required for successful project execution. In addition, you will provide leadership to a multi-disciplined team, monitor project performance, and forecast revenue.

You Will Make an Impact by
  • Negotiating, developing, monitoring, and controlling the scope of deliverables, work plans, schedules, and budgets for all project stages
  • Developing a detailed work plan for all architectural and engineering disciplines, allocating hours to the work plan, and monitoring project progress
  • Leading an integrated team of architects and engineers in the quality assurance and quality control procedures for all deliverables, specifically the construction drawings and specifications
  • Maintaining a good understanding of the project scope and when changes to the scope occur, negotiating solutions to ensure outcomes meet client expectations and contractual obligations
  • Coordinating with contractor, sub-consultants, or relevant building authorities to address and documenting issues with constructability or owner concerns
  • Acting as the primary liaison with the client, contractor, and project team and ensuring close client relationships are maintained
You Will Bring to the Team
  • Architectural or engineering systems design and presentation, M&E and structural building systems, permit and building code
  • Registered with a relevant professional association is an asset
  • Experience in strategic development, business development, project management, and client management is required
  • Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and resourcefulness
  • A strong understanding of project accounting is required in order to monitor project performance and forecast revenue
  • 15+ years of project work experience
  • Experience in Transportation projects - Aviation and Transit experience is an asset
  • Experience with Airport Authorities, TTC, Metrolinx, etcis an asset
  • Experience with hangars, airport terminals, parking garages, transit stations is an asset

The hiring base salary range for this vacant position is $120,000.00 - $170,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be based on several factors such as education, experience, internal equity and skills.
