We are looking for three (3) Senior Project Managers to join our Real Property Planning and Management (RPPM) Branch. The Senior Project Manager would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
RPPM is tasked with overseeing the development of comprehensive asset management plans and delivering infrastructure renewal and recapitalization projects that support NRC’s evolution into a more advanced research and technology organization, bolstering Canada’s science, technology, and innovation ecosystem.
Reporting to an RPPM Director, the Project Manager will provide expertise in developing and implementing asset management plans for scientific facilities and real property assets. The role involves ensuring that RPPM supports a modern, optimized, and sustainable real property portfolio that builds and maintains the NRC’s leadership role in the Canadian science, technology and innovation (STI) ecosystem.
The incumbent will participate in multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix environment, collaborating with experts from Research Centres, other RPPM directorates, project coordinators, procurement agents, and administrative personnel, while maintaining strong communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include preparing and refining asset management plans, project charters, and status reports, ensuring compliance with RPPM Engineering and Construction Office processes and policies. The Project Manager will also support the Director, Engineering and Construction, by monitoring project progress and budget, contributing to performance planning, and engaging in related activities to enhance project outcomes.
Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, project management, or in another field that is relevant to the duties of this position.
A formal designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) would be considered an asset.
*Recent experience is defined as within the last two (2) years.
**Significant experience is defined as at least seven (7) years of experience.

The intent of this hiring action is to staff this position at the RCO-3 level, with a salary range of $117,341to $136,871.
NOTE: Please note that the full RO/RCO salary scale has five levels. Salary determination will be based on a review of the candidate’s expertise, outcomes and impacts of their previous work experience relative to the requirements of the level. As such, the initial salary could be within another level of the RO/RCO salary scale (i.e. above or below the intended level for this position).
