Job summary

Iconic Power Systems Inc. is seeking a Project Manager (Major Projects) to responsibly deliver high-voltage substation and powerline construction projects across Western Canada. The role requires coordinating multiple major projects, managing financial performance, risk, and client satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with Directors and Managers to ensure safety, efficiency, and strong long-term client partnerships while driving project execution excellence.

Qualifications

• College or University Degree in a related field and/or Substation Construction Supervision or Journeyperson experience.
• P.Eng designation preferred.
• PMP/PMI designation considered an asset.
• 10+ years of Project Management experience.
• 5+ years managing construction projects.
• 5+ years of Journeyperson experience in High Voltage Construction.
• Extensive experience in substation and powerline construction.
• Utility industry experience considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage project scope, budgets, and execution plans.
• Develop and oversee project schedules and allocate resources.
• Develop and manage project financial forecasts that meet margins.
• Establish project objectives, success metrics, and performance measures.
• Manage health, safety, and environmental incidents with clients and internal teams.
• Develop staffing plans with Construction and Operations leadership.
• Procure subcontractor services and manage contracts and PO's.
• Manage contractual commitments and oversee change order processes.
• Monitor and approve project expenditures and cost controls.
• Monitor cash flow forecasts and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
• Ensure all scope changes are documented and forecasted accordingly.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation.
• Lead conflict resolution with clients and team members.
• Lead handoffs, kickoffs, client meetings, and project reviews.
• Proactively manage project risks and issues with clients and internal teams.
• Manage escalations to ensure safe and timely resolution.
• Ensure projects are closed out efficiently with final deliverables.
• Ensure every team member gets home safely.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and long-term partnerships.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams.
