Our Utility Management Sector is dedicated to delivering innovative, data-driven solutions that address the challenges of urban growth, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure renewal. We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead major projects, manage teams, and play a key role in business development efforts across Western Canada and Ontario.

Ideally you are a big-picture thinker that understands the key challenges faced by municipalities in delivering sustainable water and wastewater services. You have awareness of the key players in the industry and have developed relationships with clients in Western Canada and / or Ontario. While this role is mostly focused on project management and business, you also have a strong technical background to rely upon. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to motivate teams to deliver high quality work products..

What You’ll Do

  • Act as Project Management Lead for KWL’s Utility Management sector in water / wastewater system planning
  • Seal work products from time to time
  • Lead proposal and business development efforts for water / wastewater planning in Western Canada and Ontario
  • Coordinate work tasks amongst technical teams
  • Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, ensure quality management processes are followed
  • Coordination of tasks and resources within the Utility Management team and other KWL sectors / offices
  • Execute technical work when required
  • Supervise staff as necessary
  • Prepare technical articles, abstracts and present at conferences / events from time to time

What You’ll Bring

  • A positive and motivated personality!
  • Professional Engineering license (P.Eng.) in Alberta and / or BC (or other Canadian province)
  • 10-15 years of experience in hydraulic modelling, capital planning, water / wastewater data analysis or related
  • At least 5-10 years must include managing significant projects (>

200k value) and business development / proposal writing

  • Must have previous engineering consulting experience or demonstrated skills and understanding of operating in consulting environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and be able to work with team members in a multi-disciplinary and hybrid environment
  • A valid driver’s license (in good standing) is mandatory
  • Must be physically able to conduct field visits commensurate with project work.

Wage Range

135,000 – $155,000 per year wage, dependent on years of experience
