Empire Life Insurance in Kingston/York Mills hybrid role seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead initiatives from initiation to close-out, aligning with business objectives.

You will define scope, build plans, manage budgets and resources, and report progress to executives, while guiding teams through agile, waterfall or hybrid methods.

Formación

• 5–7 years of progressive project management experience leading large, complex transformations.
• Strong knowledge of PM methodologies (agile, scrum, waterfall) and tools like Smartsheets, JIRA, Confluence.
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams and influence change through innovation.
• University degree or college diploma in Business, Technology, or related field.
• PMP designation is an asset.
• Experience in Group Insurance space is preferred.

Salary Range: $117,600.00 To $166,880.00 Annually

Senior Project Manager

Location: Hybrid: Kingston/York Mills

Empire life is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager to join our team!

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for proactively managing the initiation, planning, analysis, design, execution, implementation and close-out of specific projects in support of business objectives . The incumbent is guided by defined goals and objectives, and works under minimal supervision of their manager.

The total target compensation (TTC) range, including salary and target bonus, is $117,600 - $166,880 This TTC range is applicable to permanent roles only; fixed-term contract and casual roles are not eligible for annual bonus and would receive only the base salary component.

What you’ll be working on

• Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables that support desired business objectives, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
• Define project tasks and resource requirements
• Work closely with resource managers in IT and other business units to acquire necessary project resources and assign specific tasks and responsibilities to project team members
• Provide direction, coaching and support to project team
• Create and manage project budget; track and report project expenses on a regular basis
• Schedule and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
• Develop project plans and other communications documents
• Monitor and report on the progress of the project to Senior executives on a regular basis
• Identify project issues and deal with those that can be resolved within the project team; for larger, more complex issues, elevate to key project stakeholders in a timely fashion
• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
• Proactively identify and manage project risks and mitigation strategies to minimize risk exposure
• Appropriately apply project management methodology, processes and standards
• Effectively manage any changes to project scope, budget or timelines following change control guidelines
• Define project success criteria and continually manage project expectations with stakeholders and team members
• Conduct post-implementation project reviews to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements

What we’re looking for you to have

• Advanced expertise in championing, leading and managing large, complex, business transformation projects and/or IT projects usually a result of a minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive project management experience
• Extensive knowledge and expertise of Project Management methodologies and development practices (i.e. agile, scrum, waterfall) and tools such as Smartsheets , JIRA and Confluence
• Conversant in different platforms, architectures, languages and modern development toolkits
• Proven track record of developing and leading dynamic, high performing teams along with a proven ability to drive and influence change through innovation and process improvement
• Substantial experience building, developing and growing relationships, at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated experience leading discussions and working effectively with senior leaders
• Self motivated with resilience to work independently including managing priorities and setting and guiding plans
• Previous consulting experience and/or proven engagement skills, to actively listen and understand stakeholders needs and collaborate to bring clarity to the definition of those needs
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills, applied at all levels of the organization
• A University degree or college diploma in Business, Technology or another related field or equivalent experience
• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset
• Previous working experience in the Group Insurance space is preferred
• Demonstrated experience working with web portals, APIs and databases with a strong understanding of their functionality, integration and application within technology projects
