Job summary

Ifg Global is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support regulatory projects across Finance with a strong focus on Tax. The role leads complex projects end to end, collaborating with Tax leadership, Finance teams, and cross-functional partners.

Hybrid Toronto location, 2 days onsite weekly (Wed & Thu). Responsibilities include end-to-end delivery, scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and executive updates.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Project Management experience.
• 10+ years of experience delivering large, complex projects from planning through implementation.
• Strong experience with project planning, requirements, execution, testing, implementation, risk, budget, and timeline management.
• Experience delivering regulatory projects within a large banking/financial institution.
• Experience within a Finance function, such as Tax, Controllership, or Treasury.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex Finance regulatory projects.
• Manage project planning, scope, timelines, budgets, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Work with Tax, Finance, Controllership, Treasury, and senior stakeholders to deliver objectives.
• Lead requirements gathering, planning, design, testing, implementation, and post-implementation activities.
• Establish measurable project benefits and track achievement throughout the lifecycle.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation and corrective action plans.
• Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and status reports to senior leadership.
• Coordinate meetings and steering committees with clear outcomes and action items.
• Collaborate with international stakeholders across UK/APAC time zones when required.
• Work independently on complex projects with minimal direction.
• Support projects involving international stakeholders (UK/APAC).

Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to support regulatory projects across Finance, with a strong focus on Tax. The role will lead complex projects end to end, working closely with senior stakeholders including Tax leadership, Finance teams, and cross-functional business partners.

• Contract: 12 months
• Extension: Potential
• FTE Conversion: Possible
• Location: Toronto - Hybrid, 2 days onsite per week (Wednesday & Thursday)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 37.5 hours/week
• Interview Process: 2 rounds - virtual and in-person
• Start Date: November 2, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex Finance regulatory projects, from initiation and requirements through implementation and closure.
• Manage project planning, scope, timelines, budgets, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Work closely with Tax, Finance, Controllership, Treasury, and senior business stakeholders to deliver project objectives.

• Analyze complex business situations and data to identify issues, evaluate solutions, and make recommendations.
• Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations, project status reports, and milestone updates to senior leadership.
• Lead project meetings, steering committee discussions, and stakeholder reviews with clear outcomes and action items.
• Coordinate matrixed teams and influence business and technology stakeholders to achieve project deliverables.
• Work independently on complex projects with minimal direction and provide expert project management guidance.
• Support projects involving international stakeholders, including UK and APAC time zones when required.

Must-Have Skills

• 10+ years of Project Management experience.
• 10+ years of experience delivering large, complex projects from planning through implementation.
• Strong experience with project planning, requirements, execution, testing, implementation, risk, budget, and timeline management.
• Experience delivering regulatory projects within a large banking/financial institution.
• Experience within a Finance function, such as Tax, Controllership, or Treasury.
• Strong ability to analyze complex concepts, resolve project issues, assess solutions, and make recommendations.
• Proven experience managing senior stakeholders and matrixed teams.
• Strong experience preparing executive-level presentations, status reporting, and project updates.
• Ability to work with stakeholders across UK/APAC time zones when required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.

Nice to Have

• PMP certification.
• Experience delivering Tax compliance projects.
• Experience with Finance regulatory initiatives.
• Experience delivering global e-invoicing or similar Tax transformation projects.
• Previous experience working directly with senior Tax leadership or Global Head of Tax.
