Job summary

The City of Vancouver is hiring a Project Manager II (Development and Major Projects) in Engineering Services. You will lead and coordinate the rezoning reviews and large development projects, working with Associates Directors, Legal Services, and external partners to deliver value to residents.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Planning and at least six years of multi‑disciplinary leadership in development review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Planning and a minimum of six years leading multi-disciplinary teams through development review stages.
• Experience in public sector environment and delivering complex development projects.
• Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate developments from rezoning through construction phases.
• Lead negotiations with internal staff, developers, consultants and agencies.
• Manage rezoning reviews and approvals with input from multiple internal groups.
• Respond to public enquiries regarding development projects.
• Oversee relationships with developers and ensure minimal disruption to residents and businesses.
• Represent Engineering Services in multi-disciplinary project teams for large developments.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, engineers and regulatory bodies on reviews.
