Job description

TrueNorth Sustainable Infrastructure Inc. (TNSI) is a Canadian infrastructure development company focused on the planning, development, construction, and long-term ownership of multi-million-dollar AI data centres and mission-critical facilities across Canada.

With complex projects currently underway and expansion planned across multiple provinces, TNSI is delivering the next generation of scalable, power-intensive digital infrastructure to support hyperscale, enterprise, and AI-driven computing environments.

Our projects are technically sophisticated, schedule-critical, and capital-intensive. They require disciplined execution, advanced coordination, and leadership at the highest level.

At TrueNorth, we don’t just build buildings - we build long-term infrastructure platforms designed for resilience, sustainability, and national impact.

The Position

TrueNorth is seeking a full-time strategic and execution-focused Senior Project Managerto lead the delivery of large-scale data centre developments across Canada.

Reporting directly to the President, this role leads multiple concurrent projects and ensures delivery excellence across scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and risk, while aligning internal and external stakeholders.

This role is ideal for a seasoned construction leader who has successfully delivered large, complex commercial or industrial projects — preferably within data centre or other mission-critical environments — and is ready to operate at an executive level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple large-scale data centre and commercial construction projects from early planning through commissioning and handover
  • Serve as the primary executive accountable for project performance, outcomes, and risk mitigation
  • Partner with the President and executive team on project strategy, capital planning, and delivery governance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, utilities, consultants, contractors, lenders, and authorities having jurisdiction
2. Development & Pre-Construction
  • Lead feasibility analysis, due diligence, budgeting, procurement strategy, and master schedule development
  • Define project scope, technical requirements, and execution strategies in coordination with architects, engineers, and utility providers
  • Oversee RFQ/RFP processes, contract negotiations, and award recommendations
  • Identify and proactively manage project risks, long-lead procurement, and regulatory compliance (BCBC, NECB, municipal approvals)
3. Design & Technical Coordination
  • Direct design development from concept through Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation
  • Ensure integration of architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and IT infrastructure systems
  • Lead multidisciplinary coordination and resolve technical and constructability challenges
  • Oversee value engineering, design optimization, and formal change management processes
4. Construction Execution
  • Ensure disciplined oversight of schedule, cost, quality, and safety performance
  • Review and approve progress claims, change orders, RFIs, and key submittals
  • Lead site governance meetings and drive timely resolution of issues
  • Manage multi-million-dollar budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and cash flow
  • Administer contracts (CCDC, CCA, and related frameworks), including change management and claims resolution
  • Maintain rigorous project controls to ensure cost certainty and risk discipline
6. Stakeholder Reporting & Governance
  • Provide clear executive-level reporting on schedule, financials, risks, and key decisions
  • Align development, design, construction, and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Serve as the central communication link between executive leadership and project stakeholders
  • Lead system commissioning, integrated testing, and performance validation
  • Oversee deficiency resolution, regulatory sign-offs, and final acceptance
  • Ensure complete and accurate closeout documentation, warranties, and turnover packages
  • Conduct post-project reviews to drive continuous improvement
