Job summary

Binnie seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead multidisciplined design projects within its Alternative Design Services Division in British Columbia. You will oversee projects from initiation through completion, coordinating stakeholders and driving delivery for interchanges, detours, and passing lanes.

You will monitor schedules, budgets, and client reporting while mentoring project teams and pursuing new business opportunities. This role targets experienced professionals with P.Eng.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in civil engineering as a Project Manager in transportation engineering.
• Experience delivering design assignments at multiple levels, including as engineer of record.
• Registration with EGBC or ASTTBC is assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design assignments through the full project lifecycle.

Job description

Binnie is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Alternative Design Services Division, which focuses on alternative delivery model assignments and complicated multidisciplined design assignments. Our Transportation Design team has been recognized for notable projects including leading the Highway 11 Interchange Design-Build assignment, the 78st Interchange and the detailed design of over 30 km of Highway 29.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects from initiation through to completion. You will act as the primary point of contact to deliver a portfolio of projects ranging in scope and complexity, including interchanges, detours and passing lanes. Working closely with the client and their organization, you will procure and lead a multi-disciplined team through the project life cycle.

Your strong understanding of project management methodologies will support your efforts to provide comprehensive project status reports, lead the change management process and accurately maintain project control documentation.

You will play a key role in a talented and diverse team of Project Managers at varied experience levels. You will provide planning, direction, and reporting for projects to ensure we meet the needs of our clients. You will also utilize your excellent business development skills to maintain strong client relationships and secure new business opportunities. YOUR ROLE:

• Acting as the key contact on projects working with stakeholders, consultants, contractors and support staff
• Leading multidisciplinary design assignments through the full project lifecycle
• Acting as the Professional of Record or Coordinating Professional of Record, when required
• Leading the development and maintenance of project schedules and coordinating resources
• Being responsible for monitoring budget and projecting cash flows
• Proactively supporting clients and anticipating project needs
• Reporting on project status to the client based on a format that they agree to
• Engaging in active business development
• Preparing proposals and reports in coordination with our proposal team
• Providing mentoring to less experienced Project Managers and guidance to the project team

WHAT YOU BRING:

• A minimum of 10 years of previous related work experience in civil engineering environment as a Project Manager, specifically in transportation engineering

• Experience working on alternative design assignments is considered a strong asset
• A proven track record of successfully delivering design assignments at various levels, including as engineer of record
• Post-secondary education and/or registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC, with ASTTBC or equivalent are assets
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and personal vehicle
• Progressive experience in managing all aspects of project delivery
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple complex projects
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $117,895 - $169,000 annually. The final salary for this role may vary based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
