Reporting to the Director, Business Transformation with guidance from the Project Steering Committee and Sponsor, this role is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional projects and programs that drive business and technology transformation. The Senior Project Manager oversees project planning, execution, and governance, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline while proactively managing risks and dependencies. This role builds strong relationships with executives, business units, and technical teams, aligning stakeholders and ensuring seamless integration of business and system changes. Responsibilities include budget management, project tracking, and mentoring project team members to ensure operational readiness and long-term success.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and manage project and program plans, schedules, and objectives, ensuring alignment with executive direction and stakeholder priorities.
  2. Ensure projects and programs meet schedule, budget, and quality targets, while proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
  3. Build and maintain stakeholder engagement, fostering strong relationships across executives, business units, and technical teams to ensure alignment.
  4. Lead cross-functional project teams, coordinating resources, deliverables, and milestones to achieve business objectives.
  5. Manage and oversee project budgets, tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and optimizing financial performance.
  6. Contribute to business cases, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  7. Implement project tracking, governance, and reporting mechanisms to keep leadership informed and ensure transparency.
  8. Perform risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans related to projects.
  9. Advise stakeholders on the impact of business and system changes, ensuring smooth integration across departments.
  10. Drive project requirements gathering and solution design, collaborating with business and technical teams to define clear outcomes.
  11. Oversee project execution from development to implementation, ensuring testing, deployment, and operational readiness.
  12. Mentor and coach project team members, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
  • Agile Certification (SAFe, Scrum Master, PMI-ACP).
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional projects (3-5 years), preferably in telecommunications, delivering large-scale IT, OSS/BSS, ERP, and digital transformation initiatives. Program management experience is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation skills, and strong analytical abilities.
  • Business acumen with financial analysis skills, including managing P&Ls, cost-benefit analyses, business cases, budget forecasting, CapEx/OpEx planning, and ROI tracking.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, MS Project, Planner, and Teams.
Contacts

External contacts include vendors, partners, consultants, government entities, customers, and outside project teams. Internal contacts involve employees at all levels across departments, with accountability to the Project Steering Committee and Sponsor.
