Job description

CIMA+ is currently seeking applications for a Senior Project Manager for our client-facing project management group in Mississauga, Ontario. As a Senior Project Manager, you will provide advanced project and stakeholder management for complex multidisciplinary construction projects, spanning project inception, planning, design, procurement, and construction oversight through commissioning to project close-out. The role includes reporting on financial and performance results, including schedule, safety, human resources, and other management issues to senior project leadership.

Responsibilities

1. Act as the single point of contact on multi-disciplinary projects and lead a team of professionals (internal and external) assigned to the projects.
2. Provide project delivery expertise and leadership to the client and project teams.
3. Manage projects from inception to completion, assessing financial forecasts, schedules, and scope requirements/changes.
4. Be accountable for project financial performance, contract and schedule management, and quality control and assurance.
5. Monitor and control project activities, including forecasting dates, updating hours on tasks, earned value, percentage complete, and resource management/over-allocation.
6. Communicate project progress against the project plan, requirements, quality measures, and milestones, taking appropriate actions to address deviations.
7. Support the development of strategic goals and objectives, identifying required resources, and leading their implementation.
8. Manage proposals, develop technical and financial packages to secure new clients, and develop business relationships with clients.
9. Attend proposal interviews and negotiations with clients over new work.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institute.
2. Must be a licensed Professional Engineer or Architect in Ontario.
3. Minimum of 10 years of experience, including 5 in Canada in a project management leadership role delivering large-scale transit, building, facilities, or healthcare projects.
4. Certification in Project Management, such as PMP, is an asset.
5. Experience across the project life cycle managing design execution and construction oversight is required.
6. Experience with alternative delivery modes like Design-Build, Progressive Design Build, or Integrated Project Delivery is an asset.
7. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
8. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of working with VP and C-suite levels.
9. Interest in coaching and mentoring junior staff.
10. Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in French is an asset.
