Job summary

The Ministry of Highways in Saskatoon is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the Construction Delivery team within the Provincial Construction Branch. You will direct and administer complex highway construction projects across the province, coordinating internal resources and consultants, and mentoring junior staff.

Reporting to the Director of Construction Delivery, you will provide technical expertise in contract management, designs, budgets, and constructability, and represent the unit

• Coordinate internal resources and commissioning consultants to administer construction projects.
• Provide direction, support and mentoring for Construction Delivery Project Managers and teams.
• Offer technical expertise related to contract management, reports, budget estimates, road designs, constructability and engineering services.
• Represent the unit in issues with private individuals, public agencies and external stakeholders; participate in meetings and lead or join ministry task forces.

The Opportunity:

The Ministry of Highways is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to join the Construction Delivery team of the Provincial Construction Branch to work in Saskatoon.

Reporting to the Director, Construction Delivery as a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for directing,
managing and administering Ministry's construction projects within the province. Work will focus on managing construction delivery by internal resources and commissioning consultants to administer construction projects, and liaising with the consultants throughout the commissioned projects. Work will also include providing direction, support and mentoring for the Construction Delivery Project Managers and their teams and the provision of technical expertise related to contract management, reports, budget estimates, road designs, constructability and the provision of engineering services.

The successful candidate will represent or participate on behalf of the unit in the resolution of issues raised by private individuals, public agencies and external stakeholders. As a Senior Project Manager, you will support and act on behalf of the Construction Delivery Director at meetings, initiate changes in Ministry policies, specifications and procedures and lead or participate in Ministry task forces.

North West:

This position is part of the internal delivery team and provides leadership, expertise, and guidance to Project Managers and Technicians in the field to ensure projects are successfully delivered.

North East:

This position focuses on consultant-led project delivery and is responsible for holding consultants, contractors, and team members accountable for project performance and results.
