Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Project Team Lead, Senior Project Manager will plan, develop and deliver real-estate focused on projects using Sun Life & industry best practices.
Projects range from small to large Financial Centres, major and regional sites across Canada.
What will you do?
Develop and maintain project budgets for each project and project phase to ensure implementation of overall project objectives and client needs
Create & monitor project timelines including key milestones & deliverables.
Create and monitor employee, site and technology readiness plans for Go Live and beyond. Interact with key stakeholders, regularly, to monitor risk with appropriate remediation plans.
Responsible for communication flow and documentation control for all relevant project materials, working with supporting staff to execute/manage as required
Responsible to work alongside change management teams to embed & monitor communication & change management activities ultimately to ensure a good employee experience throughout the journey of the project right up to Go Live and beyond.
Responsible for all aspects related to furniture, fixtures, equipment, branding, signage, clean-up and / or moves including related vendors as part of the project delivery.
Monitor site construction and deficiencies through consultant and contractors to maintain a high level of execution.
Maintain and track all project details in a project management application including scope, budget, schedule, status and risk.
Ensure that all drawings and specifications are examined, prior to sign off, for design deficiencies, impractical details and possible code violations
Track project risks as a regular best practice with remediation plans to solve for any impacts to scope, schedule and budget.
Embed a good practice of Lessons Learned into project activities and share across projects teams in order to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and build on the experience earned by projects.
Close out projects in a timely manner.
What do you need to succeed?
5+ years’ experience in leading Corporate construction projects.
BS in Engineering, Architecture or Construction would be an asset.
A Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and/or Project Management Professional designation (PMP) and/or LEED AP, WELL AP Accreditation would be an asset
Experience in construction including costing and standard practices/techniques
Experience in contract administration and a good general knowledge of construction law and building codes
Experience in change management and communication activities as part of a project
Experience in client relationship management
Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide
