Our client is searching for 4 Project Managers with government experience for the following 8-month contracts. This position is mainly remote, with occasional meetings in the office.
Must Haves:
- 5+ years of IT Project Management experience, leading projects
- 5+ years of experience in writing project documentation
- 5+ years of experience in process optimization
Responsibilities:
Provide project management on large-scale, complex, high-profile, and high-risk projects for OPS I&IT initiatives. Ensure project deliverables meet clients’ business requirements on time, within scope and budget, focusing on cost-effectiveness, efficiencies, and compliance with OPS project management methodologies and frameworks.
General Skills:
- Promote OPS I&IT standards and best practices for project management to facilitate control of system quality, adherence to standard methodology, and resource management.
- Coordinate and optimize processes.
- Manage client relationships, especially within government, NGOs, NPOs, risk advisory, and consulting environments.
- Gather and develop requirements to create and maintain detailed project schedules and integrated plans.
- Monitor and forecast project costs, providing reports to ensure targets are met.
- Develop and manage project schedules, deliverables, and scope.
- Direct project teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with government and ministry standards.
- Coordinate and monitor project processes, developing guidelines and procedures.
- Source, select, and onboard team members across disciplines, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and setting performance expectations.
- Resolve resourcing and interpersonal conflicts, negotiate changes, and share knowledge among team members.
- Articulate and prioritize issues and risks at senior levels, recommending mitigation strategies.
- Provide project, program, and portfolio reports to stakeholders at senior levels.
- Implement strategies to manage resistance to change and support project phases from initiation to close-out.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge
- Understanding of Information Management principles and policies
- Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) regulations
- Ability to recommend software, hardware, and technology resources
- Experience in project monitoring, troubleshooting, and providing ongoing expertise
- Ability to manage conflicts between project and functional areas
- Client relationship management skills to handle expectations and provide updates
- Ability to manage multiple work streams in fast-paced environments
- Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
