About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Senior Project Manager is an experienced construction professional who has completed successful ICI construction projects within the Kingston or Ottawa areas and has a strong client focus. The Senior Project Manager is a good team-builder, communicator, and stakeholder manager who can cultivate strong relationships with both internal and external partners. They are fully proficient with the technical knowledge, leadership, and communication skills required for complex project assignments in areas such as post-secondary education, pharmaceutical and healthcare, and manufacturing. This role also offers an opportunity to help lead the growth of the Kingston team with support from the Toronto office. As a Senior Project Manager at Graham, you will:

• Engage Preconstruction in preparing, revising, and monitoring information related to costs involved in developing the project budget.
• Oversee the subcontracting process, including facilitating initial scope review meetings, finalizing agreed processes, developing subcontract scopes of work, and managing subcontract distribution and final execution.
• Oversee budget estimates and deliverables to the client.
• Oversee the development of organizational responsibility matrices and directly approve project resources as required.
• Review contract documents with project participants and the commercial manager to ensure clarity on deliverables, so that project work is completed on time and within budget.
• Develop and review regular status reports for company executives and client committees, detailing the project status and recommending actions.
• Ensure that project schedule, milestone dates, and closeout checklists are prepared and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Approve and communicate performance standards and metrics for team evaluation.
• Establish and maintain relationships with clients, joint-venture partners, financing partners, subcontractors, and other stakeholders such as design teams, suppliers, and user groups.
• Act with integrity, supporting the company's values and employees, while focusing on exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
• Negotiate skillfully with internal and external parties, winning concessions without damaging relationships, while being direct and diplomatic.
• Participate actively in industry, client, and community relations to promote Graham.
• Proactively seek new business opportunities through relationship-building.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Experience in the construction of post-secondary, light industrial, manufacturing, and/or healthcare facilities is preferred.
• A minimum of 15+ years of direct construction project management experience in the ICI buildings sector.
• Technical Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of construction methods and project management processes across contract types such as CCDC2, CCDC5, CCDC30.
• Proven ability to lead and manage complex construction projects in the Commercial, Manufacturing, or Post-Secondary sectors.
• Ability to train project staff in all aspects of project requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and a thorough understanding of commercial and contract terms.
