Introduction

Our client, a prominent player in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to join their dynamic team. This essential position is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of multiple capital projects and offering technical assistance in resolving equipment and service challenges within the plant. The role focuses on delivering proactive support to enhance systems and processes, ultimately driving efficiency and providing vital technical expertise.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee complex capital projects from initial design to final commissioning, ensuring all phases are completed efficiently.
2. Manage project budgets and costs, including preparation, tracking, and vendor negotiations to maximize resource allocation.
3. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for plant equipment and services, offering expertise to resolve operational issues.
4. Represent the Company in dealings with government authorities to secure necessary permits and approvals.
5. Evaluate and prioritize process opportunities, identifying gaps and managing projects from inception to completion to enhance operational efficiency.
6. Collaborate with Plant Managers and cross-functional teams to implement technological improvements and optimize processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across multiple manufacturing facilities.

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Food Processing) and a Professional Engineer designation are required; PMP certification is a plus.
• 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in managing capital projects within fast-paced manufacturing environments, including utility systems.
• Willingness to travel (25%).
• Strong organizational and project management abilities, along with excellent negotiating and problem-solving skills, including experience in root cause analysis.
