Our client, a reputable environmental consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Aquatic Project Manager to join their growing team of environmental professionals. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in aquatic biology who is passionate about client service, project management, and mentorship in a dynamic consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage multidisciplinary environmental projects with a focus on aquatic biology.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in aquatics and fisheries biology for field programs, assessments, and regulatory submissions.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget, while maintaining high technical and safety standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, budgets, and project documentation.
  • Guide and mentor junior staff, supporting team development and knowledge-sharing.
  • Support business development initiatives, including proposal writing and strategic client engagement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting or related project management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of aquatic ecosystems and fisheries biology, with hands-on field experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with provincial and federal environmental legislation (e.g., Fisheries Act).
  • Demonstrated success in managing budgets, timelines, and scopes of work across diverse projects.
  • Skilled in technical writing, reporting, and proposal development.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in project tracking tools and adaptable to new systems and software.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed for projects.
