Job description

Green Infrastructure Partners Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead major highway and civil projects delivered through collaborative models (e.g., progressive design‑build, alliance/IPD‑style, early contractor involvement, design‑assist) within its Major Projects division in Ontario. The successful candidate will drive best‑value solutions through early contractor involvement, transparent commercial frameworks, and a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and cost.

PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE
  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of large highway/civil projects from early planning and design development through construction, commissioning, and handover under collaborative delivery models.
  • Establish and manage collaborative project structures, including integrated project teams, shared governance, and joint project offices with owners, designers, and key trade partners.
  • Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, risk registers, and target cost/GMP models in partnership with estimating, commercial, and design leads.
  • Oversee design development with engineering partners, ensuring constructability, staging, traffic management, and lifecycle considerations are embedded early.
  • Manage cost control, forecasting, and change management, including open‑book cost reporting and risk/reward mechanisms consistent with the chosen model.
  • Champion a “one‑team” culture focused on problem‑solving, early issue escalation, and transparent communication with internal teams, clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to safety, environmental, and quality management systems, leading by example in both field and office environments.
  • Support procurement and management of key subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring alignment with collaborative principles and project risk allocations.
  • Mentor and develop project engineers, coordinators, and junior project managers within the Major Projects group.
  • Lead business development and pre‑award activities on major pursuits, including RFQ/RFP responses, commercial model input, and client presentations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • 10–15+ years of progressive project management experience in heavy civil/highway infrastructure, with several years leading major projects (typically 50M+).
  • Degree in civil engineering or related discipline; P.Eng in Ontario (or eligibility) strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record managing complex highway, bridge, or urban civil projects in Ontario, including staging under traffic and multi‑stakeholder environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen in cost control, open‑book contracts, target cost/GMP development, and risk/reward sharing.
  • Proficiency with project management tools for schedule, cost, and document control.
Skills and Attributes
  • Strong leadership with the ability to build and sustain collaborative, high‑performance teams across multiple organizations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging owners, partners, regulators, and community stakeholders.
  • Strategic, solutions‑oriented mindset with sound judgement and a high commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Expected Base Salary: $155,000- $190,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations.
  • Annual performance‑based bonus.
  • Retirement savings program.
  • Career growth and advancement opportunities.
