Job summary

Metro Vancouver's Liquid Waste Services is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for the Sewer and Drainage Operations team in Burnaby. You will manage complex infrastructure projects, focusing on pump stations, trunk sewers, odour control facilities, and storage tanks, ensuring reliable wastewater collection and drainage.

The role requires a BASc, P.Eng eligibility, and 4+ years post-registration experience (or 8 years total).

Qualifications

Bachelor of Applied Science in a relevant engineering discipline with P.Eng eligibility.
Minimum 4 years post-registration experience, or 2 years with 8 total years of relevant engineering experience.
Membership or eligibility for immediate P.Eng with EGBC.
Strong technical knowledge and ability to advise staff.
Proven project management and contract administration skills.

Responsibilities

Perform complex engineering and project management duties for wastewater collection and urban drainage systems.
Manage technical initiatives, including development/construction impacts, inspections, and capital projects.
Coordinate corrective troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and operations optimization.
Prepare designs, reports and contract specifications; supervise consultants.
Lead cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with regulations.
