Job summary

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) in Ontario is seeking Senior Project Engineers to lead planning, delivery and construction of Highway 413 and related corridors. You will work with municipalities, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders to balance transportation needs with environmental stewardship.

This role focuses on end-to-end project delivery, strategic problem solving, and leadership within a fast-paced program that shapes Ontario's transportation future.

Qualifications

• Licensed with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or accreditation in a Canadian province/territory; must obtain a PEO license as a condition of accepting this position.
• Valid driver's license, or equivalent, as recognized by Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Manage the timely end-to-end delivery of complex planning and engineering projects undertaken in-house and by external consultants.
• Interact with ministry management, municipalities, external agencies and the public.
• Consolidate engineering input and provide technical direction to management and consultants.
• Protect ministry interests with respect to active projects within future provincial highway corridors.
• Coordinate planning, design and construction activities related to relocation of major utilities along the new highway corridor.
