Job summary

Acero Engineering Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Compression to lead FEED work for a large Greenfield field development in Alberta. The role demands strong technical capability and extensive compression experience.

The successful candidate will manage schedules, cost estimates, vendor RFQs, and regulatory compliance while coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver on-time, safe, and within-budget results.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Project Engineer with strong technical capabilities.
• Strong compression experience is a must have.
• Must have 6+ years’ experience at an EPCM working on Oil & Gas Facilities projects.
• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with ENCH 607 & 609 (or equivalent), and registered as a professional engineer in the province of Alberta.
• Understanding and working effectively with MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio, Powerpoint, Teams.

Responsibilities

• Creating and maintaining project schedules, engineering man-hour estimates, and cost estimates
• Requesting vendor information, compiling and distributing RFQs, evaluating quotes, and recommending purchase awards
• Assisting with the preparation and review of scope documents, reports, DBMs, PEPs, project kickoff documentation, RFQs, etc.
• Assembling and/or directing the assembly of construction work packages with an awareness of what should be in the binder
• Understanding regulatory codes and the implications on Acero’s design (e.g. spacing)
• Understanding and working with piping and various equipment specifications
• Participate in HAZOPS, including dealing with preparation and close-outs
• Understanding and participating in squad checks
• Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders – notifying stakeholders of all changes
• Prioritizing workload and being able to juggle multiple tasks without falling short on quality or deadlines
• Other tasks/responsibilities as required

Acero Engineering Inc. (“Acero”), a growing oil & gas facilities engineering company providing engineering, procurement and construction management expertise is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill one role as a Senior Project Engineer – Compression; 8 – 12+ years’ experience.

Acero is focused on facility and pipeline engineering, procurement and construction management services; from concept evaluation to plant start-up. Our core service offering is in-house project management, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory services, civil and structural engineering, and construction management.

Responsibilities:

As the Senior Project Engineer for the FEED of a large Greenfield full field development:

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

• Must have a minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Project Engineer with strong technical capabilities
• Strong compression experience is a “must have”
• Must have 6+ years’ experience at an EPCM working on projects related to Oil and Gas Facilities
• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with successful completion of ENCH 607 & 609 (or equivalent courses), and registered as a professional engineer in the province of Alberta
• Understanding and working effectively with MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio, Powerpoint, Teams
• Excellent team collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Strong written, verbal, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines as occasionally demanded by our clients
