Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, seeks a Sr. Project Engineer based in Canada to lead engineering for utility-scale battery energy storage projects across North America.

You will oversee design development through construction and commissioning, coordinating electrical, civil, mechanical, and controls disciplines, with frequent collaboration with consultants, EPCs, suppliers, and internal teams. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years in project engineering or related technical role.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV electrical systems.
• Experience with grid interconnection and renewables codes.
• Experience supporting procurement and bid evaluations for major equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical execution of utility-scale battery energy storage projects from design development through construction, testing and commissioning.
• Serve as primary technical point of contact for engineering requests and issue resolution.
• Manage technical scope, schedules, deliverables and stakeholder coordination.
• Develop technical specifications and support vendor reviews and commissioning activities.
• Support procurement and tendering by preparing technical requirements and evaluating EPC bids.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering requirements across electrical, civil, structural, mechanical, controls, and BOP systems.
• Review designs, drawings and calculations to identify gaps and drive resolution.
• Conduct site visits to verify construction aligns with approved designs.
