Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Control Analyst in Victoria, BC to join the Project Services – Project Cost Control group. You will drive project performance through integrated cost, schedule, and progress tracking across the lifecycle, collaborating with project managers, planners, and technical teams to support proactive decision-making.

The role emphasizes applying Earned Value Management, budgeting and forecasting, and producing forecasts (EAC/ETC) with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project control or project cost control.
• Experience working on engineering projects is mandatory.
• Experience in heavy industrial projects is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and indicators (PV, EV, AC, CPI, SPI).
• Good budgeting, forecasting, baselines, and variance analysis concepts.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (analysis, tracking tables, modeling).
• Knowledge of Primavera P6, Power BI, InEight, or similar tools.
• Ability to work on complex and multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong rigor, analytical mindset, organizational skills, attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• The candidate may be required to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project cost control (budgets, committed costs, forecast at completion).
• Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to measure true performance.
• Analyze progress and assess impact on costs and schedules.
• Prepare and maintain periodic forecasts (EAC/ETC) with project managers.
• Produce integrated cost/schedule/progress analyses and identify risks and opportunities.
• Perform variance analysis against baselines and recommend actions.
• Support change-management processes (cost and schedule impact).
• Ensure data quality and traceability of project control data.
• Collaborate with planners to align cost data with schedules.
• Participate in project review meetings and contribute to performance discussions.
• Apply WSP project control frameworks and best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of tools and methods in Cost Control.
• Support junior and intermediate PCOs within Project Services.
