Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to support cost control, forecasting, and performance across a diverse portfolio of Earth & Environment projects in British Columbia and Yukon. You will partner with project managers and technical teams, monitor budgets, deliver earned value metrics, and help manage scope changes and risk with data-driven insight.

A Diploma or degree in a related field and 3–5 years’ experience are expected.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in project controls, project finance, or cost controls.
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and Excel.
  • Experience with Oracle financial systems, ERP platforms, project reporting tools or similar systems.
  • Experience supporting multi-disciplinary environmental, regulatory, remediation, infrastructure, mining, energy, or resource-sector projects.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management, with the ability to partner with project leadership.

  • Support the establishment and maintenance of robust project cost estimates, budgets, forecasts, and cashflow projections.
  • Monitor project portfolio performance against baselines and identify risks and trends.
  • Communicate cost and schedule variances to support proactive decisions.
  • Support risk assessments and contingency planning for complex projects.
  • Maintain project controls reports and dashboards with clear financial visibility.
  • Support change management analyses for scope changes.
  • Provide earned value metrics (CPI, SPI) and forecast insights (EAC, ETC) with project managers.

As a Project Controls Analyst, you will work closely with our Lead project controls analyst to build trusted partnerships with our Project Managers and technical teams, strengthening cost control, forecasting accuracy, resource planning, and overall project performance across a diverse portfolio of environmental management projects.

You'll apply your analytical expertise and financial acumen to monitor budgets, track project performance, and identify emerging risks early across a large project portfolio, while helping project teams navigate scope changes, forecasting updates, and performance recovery where needed. B y providing clear visibility into cost, schedule, and financial performance, you will help project teams manage risk,maintaincontrol, and deliver successful outcomes for our clients and communities. This role is suited to an analytical professional who thrives in acontrols - focused environment and enjoys supporting major projects through data - driven insight.

Your Impact

  • Maintainproject controls reports and dashboards thatprovideclear insight into project financial performance.
  • Support change management analyses, assessing cost and schedule impacts associated with scope changes.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers to provide earned value metrics (CPI, SPI) and forecast insights (EAC, ETC).

  • Diploma or degree in Project Management, Business, Finance, Environmental Management, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in project controls, project finance, or cost controls within consulting, engineering, environmental services, or construction environments.
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with Oracle financial systems, ERP platforms, project reporting tools, or similar project accounting systems.
  • Experience supporting multi-disciplinary environmental, regulatory, remediation, infrastructure, mining, energy, or resource-sector projects.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with technical and project leadership teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $77,400- $102,500
MB & ON: $70,600 - $97,200
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $69,900 - $92,900
