Job summary

AES Engineering Ltd. in Vancouver seeks an experienced Controller for a 15-month contract. You will oversee day-to-day accounting, mentor staff, and ensure accurate financial reporting while supporting executive decision-making.

The role requires strong accounting background, project-based experience, and leadership capabilities to drive internal controls and financial performance for the company.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Seven years of accounting experience with three+ years in senior/supervisory roles.
• Experience in project-based environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency with ADP and Excel; ERP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a small finance team.
• Oversee full-cycle accounting and monthly/quarterly/annual reporting.
• Coordinate budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Improve internal controls and financial processes.
• Interface with external accounting firms and tax advisors.
• Oversee AR/AP, invoicing, and collections.
• Deliver timely financial statements to leadership.
• Support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
