Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Technician IV-Production Test in Garden Grove, CA to set up and perform tests on power supply units for high-reliability applications. You will run board- and top-assembly level tests, analyze results, and document issues with clear technical reports.

Strong electronics knowledge and lab skills are essential for this role. The position emphasizes attention to test procedures, troubleshooting, and building fixtures.

Qualifications

• AA/AS in electronics or equivalent is required.
• 5-7 years hands-on testing experience with switching power supplies or power electronics.
• Ability to read schematics and understand electronics fundamentals.
• Experience and proficiency with oscilloscopes, DMMs and lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare test setups for power supply production units as required.
• Perform switching power supply board level tests per Production Test Procedure (PTP).
• Conduct top assembly tests including vibration and thermal cycling per ATP/QTP.
• Summarize and analyze test results.
• Create technical reports for issues.
• Troubleshoot at board and top assembly levels.
• Build and troubleshoot test fixtures, cables, harnesses and loadbanks as needed.
• Test inductors/transformers and perform burn-in life tests as required.
