Senior Product Manager (Desktop UI & Integrations)

Docker Desktop is used daily by millions of developers around the world who rely on it for application development. The Desktop UI & Extensions team is responsible for Docker Desktop’s GUI, Docker’s VS Code extension, and language server. Our mission is to meet developers where they work and enhance their productivity by delivering intuitive interfaces, powerful troubleshooting tools, and seamless IDE integrations.

The successful candidate is comfortable taking ownership of a complex area, has a technical background, and understands developer pains. They work well with cross-functional teams and are passionate about developer tooling and engagement.

Responsibilities:
  1. Define and execute the product vision and strategy for Docker Desktop’s UI, Visual Code Extension, Language Server (LSP), and future products.
  2. Collaborate with Engineering and Design teams to create impactful, user-centric experiences.
  3. Prioritize tasks, manage cross-team integrations, and ensure seamless delivery.
  4. Communicate clearly and align stakeholders around shared goals and outcomes.
  5. Engage with the open-source community to support ecosystem needs.
Qualifications:
  • Strong technical foundation with a computer science background or hands-on development experience (3+ years), understanding developer needs.
  • Proven track record in product management for technical products, especially developer tools (3+ years).
  • Exceptional communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Proactive approach to product quality, including testing and validation.
  • Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making experience.
First 30 days:
  • Deeply familiarize with Docker Desktop and related tools.
  • Build relationships with team and stakeholders.
  • Ship your first small product improvement.
First 90 days:
  • Engage with users for insights.
  • Understand Docker’s product landscape.
  • Develop and begin executing a 6-month product roadmap.
  • Deliver impactful product changes.
First year:
  • Deliver strategic value aligned with your vision.
  • Enhance product experiences impacting millions of developers.
