Bank of Montreal is seeking a Senior Product Manager for Client Onboarding to shape a seamless onboarding experience for institutional clients. The role sits in the Office of the COO and partners with Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Front Office to design, implement, and optimize onboarding that meets regulatory requirements and client expectations.

The candidate will deliver business outcomes, drive efficiency, and lead end-to-end onboarding initiatives with clear OKRs and KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business/Finance/Technology or related field.
  • MBA or equivalent may be preferred.
  • Experience with Capital Markets onboarding processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the product vision and roadmap for Client Onboarding solutions.
  • Translate business goals into actionable product initiatives with measurable impact.

This position sits within the Office of the COO and partners closely with Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Front Office teams to design, implement, and optimize onboarding solutions that meet regulatory requirements and client expectations.The role is accountable for delivering business-focused outcomes by aligning onboarding initiatives with strategic objectives, driving measurable improvements in client experience, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy & RoadmapDefine and maintain the product vision and roadmap for Client Onboarding solutions.Align product strategy with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and client needs.Deliver Business OutcomesTranslate business goals into actionable product initiatives that deliver tangible value.Ensure onboarding solutions contribute to revenue growth, cost optimization, and enhanced client satisfaction.Establish clear success metrics tied to business impact and monitor performance against targets.Stakeholder ManagementCollaborate with internal teams (Operations, Technology, Compliance, Sales) to gather requirements and prioritize enhancements.Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology delivery teams.Process OptimizationIdentify pain points in the onboarding process and lead initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance client experience.Drive automation and digital transformation opportunities within onboarding workflows.Delivery & ExecutionManage end-to-end delivery of onboarding-related projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.Develop business cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new features and enhancements.Metrics & ReportingDefine OKRs and KPIs to measure onboarding efficiency, client satisfaction, and business impact.Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.Experience:5+ years in product management, business analysis, or project delivery within financial services (Capital Markets experience strongly preferred).Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional initiatives and delivering measurable business outcomes.Skills:Strong understanding of client onboarding processes, regulatory requirements (KYC/AML), and operational workflows.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with Agile methodologies and digital transformation tools.The salary range for this role is $110,000 up to $125,000 CAD (subject to the candidate meeting the specific skills, experience, education, and qualification requirements)Salary :Pay Type:SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
