Bank of Montreal (BMO) in Toronto, ON is seeking an experienced senior software professional to lead development across front and back-end systems. You will apply expertise in Capital Markets and Fixed Income, guiding teams through design, implementation and deployment of scalable platforms.

The role requires expert Java and/or React/TypeScript skills, strong project management, and a focus on performance, stability, and cross‑functional collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Advanced level of experience leading other developers in Capital Markets environments.
  • Advanced Fixed Income experience required.
  • Expert Java and/or frontend (React/TypeScript) experience.
  • Ability to apply development expertise to front and back-end systems with project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Designs strategy for continuous enhancement, performance optimization, stability and scalability.
  • Develops and maintains fully functioning platforms with databases or servers.
  • Designs user experiences, interactions, responsive design and architecture.
  • Oversees testing, deployment and production issue resolution.
  • Ensures cross-platform compatibility and fixes issues during test and production phases.
  • Leads end-to-end software production lifecycle and code reviews.
