Ciena is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to lead the conversion of optoelectronic wafers, ensuring quality and performance in product development. How You Will Contribute:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Optical Engineering, as a Senior Product Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the conversions process of optoelectronic wafers into known good die (KGD), such that they are suitable for packaging into optoelectronic modules. This support role will include capturing and understanding the basic physics and design intent of the product design with a view to both maintaining and improving the product performance over time , at the wafer, die and package levels . In addition, this position will include working with the wider team to influence and ensure the development of a reliable product, transferred successfully to our CM partner and manufactured successfully at or better than cost objectives. This position requires a candidate with a strong, demonstrated record in the development and manufacture of advanced optoelectronic modules and devices in a Telecom or Datacom environment.
Working closely with our Design team and manufacturing partners, who have responsibility for developing and maintaining manufacturing/test equipment and capability, the Product Engineer shall act as the lead for transferring new designs from R&D and work with the various parties to plan and action the transfer to our contract manufacturer (CM) and then maintain them in production.

Pay Range:
The annual pay range for this position is $90,800 - $145,000.
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
