Job summary

Blue J is seeking a Senior Product Designer to shape the product experience, elevate design systems, and scale design across our teams. You will work closely with Product and Engineering to turn insights into delightful solutions that handle complex tax research with clarity.

The role supports a hybrid model across Canada, with periodic in-person meetings at our Toronto office. You will contribute to a growing in-house design practice, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and help craft

Qualifications

• 5+ years in UX/UI or Product Design with shipped products.
• Experience building and scaling design systems across teams.
• Familiar with front-end code (HTML/CSS/React).
• Collaborative in an Agile environment with stakeholders.
• Strong communication and ability to explain design decisions.
• Passion for usability and accessibility in products.
• Proactive mindset to improve and iterate design.

Responsibilities

• Support the design process from research to high-fidelity designs and prototyping.
• Build and maintain a scalable design system, style guide, and component library.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate ideas into user-friendly solutions.
• Conduct user interviews and usability testing to refine experiences.
• Engage with customers to ensure solutions meet real needs and usability goals.
• Create interactive prototypes for quick validation and collaboration.
• Iterate on designs based on feedback and data.
• Contribute to front-end code (HTML/CSS/React) to speed delivery.
• Improve Figma workflows and team documentation.
• Advocate for design across the organization and raise standards.
