Job summary

Freshly Commerce Inc. is seeking its first dedicated designer to own the look and feel of our product, from merchant- facing screens to storefront visuals.

You’ll shape workflows, collaborate with engineers, support, and marketing, and drive a cohesive design system across product and marketing. We value strong UX judgment, a sharp visual eye, and the ability to switch between product design and marketing graphics.

Qualifications

• Portfolio should show both product design work and visual/graphic design work.
• Strong product and UX thinking; you can define problems before solving them and explain decisions.
• Strong eye for visual design: typography, layout, color and detail.
• Strong writing skills; you write clear, concise copy and see words as part of the design.
• High independence and initiative; you proactively identify problems.
• Strong problem-solving ability and resourcefulness.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and switching between work types.
• You know Figma well, including components and auto layout, with developer-ready files.
• You use AI tools for research and exploration while maintaining output quality.

Responsibilities

• Own product design end to end, from problem framing through high-fidelity designs and QA.
• Translate complex merchant workflows into simple, intuitive interfaces.
• Design within Shopify admin and Polaris, knowing when to follow or extend patterns.
• Create storefront experiences that work on mobile and align with merchant brands.
• Collaborate with engineers during build, clarifying edge cases and ensuring clean handoff.
• Leverage feedback and analytics to inform design choices and validate outcomes.
• Build and maintain our design system and brand guidelines for product and marketing coherence.
• Create marketing visuals: app store graphics, website visuals, social assets, emails, and print pieces.
• Experiment with Claude Code or AI tools to explore design directions and feasibility.
