(NASDAQ: BKNG), is an industry leader with a passion for helping restaurants thrive. Our world-class technology empowers restaurants to focus on what matters most – their team, their guests, and their bottom line – while enabling diners to discover and book the perfect restaurant for every occasion.

Every employee at OpenTable has a tangible impact on what we do and how we do it. You’ll also be part of a global team that includes our sister brand, KAYAK and its portfolio of global metasearch brands. Hospitality is all about taking care of others, and it defines our culture.

The opportunity:

As a Senior Product Designer on the Diner Engagement team, you'll get to:

  • Help diners discover, choose, reserve, and engage with the best restaurants for their preferences.
  • Identify new strategic UX opportunities in Diner-facing products.
  • Stay close to emerging trends in diner habits around discovery, selection, reservation and overall hospitality experience.
  • Work closely with a global team of product managers, product & brand designers, engineers and data scientists, to define our strategy and drive the future of OpenTable’s diner experience.
  • Build impactful user experiences that delight customers and drive our business forward, evolve, and develop new experiences while balancing the needs of our diners, restaurants, and the business.
  • Collaborate with other designers while navigating the full range of a product designer’s work—from research to high-fidelity designs.
  • Meaningfully impact every stage of product discovery and development across both sides of the double diamond and relentlessly iterating to constantly improve quality and impact.
  • You put people at the center of everything you do—you’re equally motivated by crafting impactful product strategies and user experiences and helping designers grow; you care deeply about your team and their success.
  • You are highly proactive about learning emerging AI tools in design and product development and your portfolio includes examples of how you utilize them in your day-to-day work.
  • You are a systems thinker with a passion for solving complex design challenges at scale.
  • You have extensive experience designing for web and mobile platforms and an exceptional portfolio that showcases a breadth of product design leadership.

You also have:

  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in product design
  • Excel at translating sophisticated workflows into elegant and accessible user experiences
  • Comfortably navigate all stages of the design process, from assembling insights with user research, building, and testing prototypes, delivering polished visual design, and working collaboratively with product managers and engineers to bring the UX to life
  • Continuously value introspection to improve yourself, your team, and your products
  • Proactively seek and incorporate direction from senior team members, and are generally eager to learn and curious about the latest design trends and methodologies
  • Have a creative approach and open mind to solving problems, thrive with challenges, and can independently lead a project or product area while being open to feedback and coaching
  • Drive collaboration between partner teams and can operate as a phenomenal teammate.
  • Actively supply to group conversations, facilitate working sessions, and help shape decisions
  • Have developed a large arsenal of tools and know when to use what to move the work forward
  • Have a portfolio that demonstrates your problem-solving skills, exceptional visual design skills, and interaction design skills through a breadth of great product design work across web and mobile platforms
  • Have experience working on global products in a large-scale, product-led environment, and have deep experience across all platforms including iOS, Android and responsive web
  • Have experience successfully managing or mentoring designers
  • Have a track record of excellent communication and storytelling skills
