Job description

Salons have always treated color like a cost to manage. Vish flips that: it’s the platform that turns color into the most profitable thing you do.

We’re not the new kid, we’re the system running behind the biggest salon names in North America, with operations reaching salons globally, and partners like L’Oréal, Redken, Moroccanoil, and SalonCentric already on board. And we didn’t just build software that checks a box. We built something salons actually like using.

Where You’ll Work

This is an in-office role, five days a week.

About the Role

You'll report directly to our VP of Product and work alongside a team of Product Managers, one other Product Designer, and Engineering to shape the everyday experience of thousands of salon professionals plus closely with Marketing, so what we say and what we ship feel like they come from the same brand.

This isn't a "make the mockups" seat. You'll help define how Vish looks, feels, and behaves as we grow, across a color management app used chairside every day and a webapp used to run entire businesses. You'll have real say in the craft bar we hold ourselves to, and real ownership over the systems that make that craft repeatable.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Owning end-to-end design for major product initiatives - from early concept and prototyping through shipped, polished experience - partnering closely with Product and Engineering the whole way.
  • Setting and raising the design bar for Vish. You'll bring taste, rigor, and a point of view to a product used by people who've never had software built with them in mind.
  • Building and evolving our design system so other designers can move fast without losing consistency or craft.
  • Partnering with Marketing to keep the Vish brand cohesive from first ad to daily product use - same voice, same energy.
  • Getting close to customers - salon owners, stylists, front desk staff - to understand real workflows and turn that understanding into simple, elegant design decisions.
  • Mentoring and collaborating with our other Designers, creating a team that raises each other's bar rather than just dividing up the work.
  • Translating ambiguous, broad ideas into concrete flows, prototypes, and specs Engineering can build from.
  • Balancing speed and craft. We move in six-week cycles (Shape Up), and we need someone who can ship real, considered design inside that rhythm - not endless polish, not throwaway.
About You
  • You've got 5+ years of Product Design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, and ideally some of it in an early-to-mid-stage startup where you had to build the system as much as the screens.
  • You're fluent in Figma - clean components, real auto-layout discipline, systems built to scale past just you.
  • You have range: you're as comfortable defining an information architecture as you are pushing pixels on a delightful micro-interaction.
  • You're a strong communicator. You can explain the "why" behind a design decision to an engineer, a PM, and a VP, and you can disagree productively when you think we're making the wrong call.
  • You've got a point of view on good design and you're not afraid to push a team that defaults to "safe."
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and startup pace - nobody's handing you a fully-scoped brief every sprint.
  • You're genuinely curious about using AI-assisted design tools (Claude, Figma Make, and whatever's next) to work faster and think bigger, not just faster.
Why You Should Join
  • Real influence - you're not the fifth designer refining an established system, you're one of two people defining it.
  • Work on a product real people depend on to run their business, in an industry that's only just starting to embrace software.
  • A team that's fun, direct, and takes feedback seriously - no politics, no ego required.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and the kind of ownership that comes from joining early.
