Your role

We seek a Senior Producer to lead a team of videojournalists and reporters across the Canadian territories and Nunavik, primarily based in Yellowknife or Whitehorse. The role involves managing daily assignments, production follow-ups, and planning cross-platform content and deployments for ICI Grand Nord, focusing on stories related to the environment, economy, politics, social and Indigenous issues, and the French-speaking community. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Strategy and Development, for the Far North, Alberta, and British Columbia.

The candidate must work strategically with partners, promote content nationally, and collaborate with CBC North, ensuring adherence to journalistic standards and the ability to handle complex situations. Leadership, editorial judgment, and a deep understanding of the Far North are essential.

What you bring:

• University degree or equivalent with seven years’ experience, including three in broadcasting or related fields
• Strong leadership and team development skills
• Positive, solutions-oriented mindset
• Extensive journalism experience and editorial judgment
• Ability to respond quickly to breaking news
• Knowledge of current events relevant to Canada’s Far North
• Understanding of local communities, Indigenous Peoples, and related issues (asset)
• Cultural and historical sensitivity to the Far North
• Bilingual in English/French, both spoken and written
• Familiarity with production tools (asset)
