Senior Procurement Manager

The role:
Responsible for supervising a small team to manage the procurement process and execute strategic sourcing goals. Work collaboratively with business units to manage external suppliers for all aspects of Food/Non-Food Procurement which fulfills our operational needs, and oversee and make measurable improvements. The spend portfolio is currently over $40m annually.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related discipline. MBA or a Master’s in Supply Chain Management is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as SCMP, CPSM, CPM or CSCP preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ procurement experience within food & beverage industry /Hotel/ Aviation hospitality industry is required.
- Sourcing (RFI/RFQ/RFP) experience is required and demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques is required to forecast demand, assess market trends and provide strategic insight.
- Previous experience with CheckSCM/ Peoplesoft/ SAP or other Procurement systems desired.
- Proven experience in leading a team and ability to mentor a team with improvement and collaboration.
- Self-motivated, independent, proactive and able to deliver quality results under tight schedules.
- Good problem-solving, communication, leadership & negotiation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including advanced skills in Outlook, Word and Excel is a must.
Key Areas of Duties and Responsibility
- Demonstrate persuasive leadership skills to support senior business executives to develop a strategic procurement plan and sourcing goal to achieve business objectives and saving.
- Understand the business needs on goods and services, provide advice and opinion on supplier options and product.
- Manage, control and conduct performance tracking on existing products and services, provide regular reporting and insight to internal stakeholders.
- Establish and carry out a full spectrum of procurement services including PO creation, Reporting, Vendor and Cost Management.
- Manage contracts with suppliers, ensure the company can achieve cost reduction, quality assurance and long-term partnerships; Leverage volume concessions and development purchasing strategies across Canada.
- Provide training to business users on procurement platforms and logistics team to maintain stock accuracy in procurement system.
- Manage internal procurement system to ensure all cost and approval are being tracked in accordance to PPG policy.
- Partner with Operations team to effectively manage the supply of goods, ensure cost efficiency and compliance with group procurement standards and policies.
- Cover Non-F&B, OS&E, FF&E, Facilities Management, Marketing and Repair & Maintenance purchases; and procure materials and services that meet PPG quality standards and local government & airport standards.
- Work with Global Service Centre - Procurement team to manage vendors, procurement activities and cost management in the CheckSCM inventory system.
- Monitor the suppliers’ performance and recommend suggestions for improvement.
- Handle internal and external audit over ISO certification & Food Safety Management System.
- Work with Operations, Store and Logistics to review current practices to apply appropriate changes to the ever-changing airport environment.
- Provide support and analysis to Finance leadership and Global Procurement team to manage the procurement activities in Canada following PPG Policies and procedures.
- Work on any ad-hoc projects and procurement assignments shared by senior leadership based on business needs.
