Job summary

WSP in Toronto is seeking an Experienced Process Engineer to join the Canadian Resources team. You will contribute process engineering expertise to industrial and mining projects across the lifecycle, from studies through commissioning and programming, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate holds a B.Chem Eng and a P.Eng in Canada, with 10+ years of experience in heavy industry, and proficiency in process design, simulation, and equipment selection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and P.Eng. in Canada.
• Minimum of 10 years of industrial process engineering experience in mining, resources, manufacturing, or heavy industry.
• Experience in process design, optimization, simulation, equipment selection, calculations, P&ID.
• Experience with HYSYS or Aspen Plus; AFT Fathom is an asset.
• Knowledge of NFPA, API, and TSSA codes; ability to coordinate with clients and teams.
• Willingness to work in the field/onsite when required; consulting engineering experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize industrial and mining processes, using simulations and technical analyses to improve project performance, safety, and long-term value.
• Produce clear engineering deliverables, including calculation notes, equipment specifications, reports, PFDs, and P&IDs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists and clients to turn project requirements into coordinated, practical process solutions.
• Develop and review tender packages, specifications, scopes, budgets, and technical documentation that support confident procurement and delivery decisions.
• Support Project Managers by identifying technical priorities, managing process‑engineering inputs, and contributing to successful project outcomes.
• Strengthen client relationships through responsive communication, sound engineering judgement, and solutions aligned with operational needs.
