Job summary

The University of Alberta is seeking a senior process transformation professional to map As-Is/To-Be states, lead large-scale change initiatives, and quantify ROI across complex business units.

You will develop KPIs and dashboards, facilitate executive workshops, and champion Lean Six Sigma or Agile methodologies to foster operational excellence. This hybrid role is based at North Campus in Edmonton with a broad impact across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-impact transformation projects from discovery through implementation, ensuring changes are sustainable and measurable.
  • Data Analysis & ROI: Quantify the impact of process changes. Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor process health and provide data-backed recommendations to leadership.
  • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate workshops with senior leadership and frontline staff to build consensus and manage the 'people' side of change.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean, six sigma, or agile methodologies across the organization to foster a culture of operational excellence.
  • Documentation & Governance: Maintain a centralized repository of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Location This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

Responsibilities
  • Process Architecture & Design: Map "As-Is" and "To-Be" states for complex business units, identifying bottlenecks, redundancies, and automation opportunities.
  • Project Leadership: Lead high-impact transformation projects from discovery through implementation, ensuring changes are sustainable and measurable.
  • Data Analysis & ROI: Quantify the impact of process changes. Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor process health and provide data-backed recommendations to leadership.
  • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate workshops with senior leadership and frontline staff to build consensus and manage the "people" side of change.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean, six sigma, or agile methodologies across the organization to foster a culture of operational excellence.
  • Documentation & Governance: Maintain a centralized repository of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in process analysis, with a proven track record in large-scale business transformation or change management projects.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), PMP, or CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional).
  • Ability to see the big picture while maintaining an obsessive attention to detail regarding technical workflows.
  • Exceptional negotiation and storytelling skills; the ability to translate technical process gaps into business value for executives.
  • Advanced skills in BPMN 2.0, Visio, Lucidchart, or ARIS. Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and BI tools (Tableau/Power BI) is highly preferred.
