Job summary

The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) is seeking an experienced Individual Practice Advisor to manage registrant processes including CPD, annual requirements, and reinstatement reviews. You will coordinate audits, develop seminar content, and guide decisions to ensure ethical, competent practice across engineering and geoscience professions.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer or Geoscientist registered with APEGA or eligible for membership in APEGA.
• 15–20 years of broad engineering or geoscience-related experience.
• Strong knowledge of audit and regulatory processes and their limitations.
• Familiarity with legislation affecting APEGA (EGP Act, Regulations, By-Laws).
• Ability to build trust and productive relationships while upholding regulatory requirements.
• Experience with regulatory standards, policy development, and professional practice.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Registrant Management Policies and Processes for reinstatements, resumptions, reconsiderations, reactivations and RCEO submissions.
• Conduct individual practice reviews and provide reports with recommendations to the Practice Review Board.
• Conduct non-practicing reviews and provide reports with recommendations to the Practice Review Board.
• Develop content for professional practice seminars and CPD materials.
• Provide assessments for Registrant Management applications and advise on suitability to practice.
