Job summary

TechBlocks in Vaughan, Canada is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to join the Enterprise BI team on a 3-month contract. The role is hybrid, requiring three office days (Mon, Wed, Fri) to design and deliver advanced Power BI dashboards and enterprise reports for leadership and operations.

You will build data models, implement DAX measures, optimize performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into insights, with strong focus on data governance and security (RLS).

Qualifications

• 7+ years of BI and analytics experience with Power BI
• Strong skills in DAX, Power Query (M) and data modeling
• Experience with Microsoft Azure data platforms (Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory)
• Solid SQL knowledge and data governance practices
• Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and Power BI Service management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for executives and operations.
• Build and optimize data models using star schema and dimensional modeling.
• Create advanced DAX measures and calculations for complex analytics.
• Optimize Power BI performance including data refresh and query tuning.
• Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and translate into scalable reporting solutions.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across reporting layers.
• Integrate Power BI with Azure data sources and manage deployment and security.
• Provide guidance to junior developers and analysts.
