BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. in Peterborough, Ontario, is seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee a portfolio of customer projects and lead a team of 6–9 project managers and coordinators.

The role focuses on aligning with strategic objectives and delivering customer satisfaction through effective oversight. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, 10+ years in the industry, and strong proficiency in scheduling, EVMS, contract management, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 10 years of related industry experience.
• 7–10 years of project management experience in a project-based organization.
• Scheduling, earned-value management, budget control, change management, risk management skills.
• Experience in contract management.
• Experience managing large data sets and client relationships.
• Fluent English in writing and speaking.
• Experience in the nuclear energy production industry.
• PMP certification.

Responsibilities

• Support departmental plans, goals and objectives for project management practices.
• Provide leadership and set expectations with accountability.
• Direct execution of a portfolio of projects within budget, schedule and quality targets.
• Ensure effective resource allocation and prioritization across projects.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate portfolio risks.
• Ensure compliance with governance, standards and contractual requirements.
• Serve as escalation point for project challenges.
• Assist proposal development, scope definition and customer presentations.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and tools.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance management for project staff.
• Present portfolio performance data to stakeholders.
• Provide strategic guidance aligned with customer and organizational objectives.
• Support accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments.
