Peoples Group is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design, build, and run the data platform powering Canada’s fintech ecosystem. You’ll partner with data teams, security, and stakeholders to ship production-ready infrastructure with reliability, cost controls, and strong security baked in.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in Platform/DevOps/SRE with end-to-end platform build.
• Deep Terraform expertise including modules and state management.
• Production Docker/Kubernetes experience including RBAC and upgrades.
• Proven CI/CD pipeline design for a shared engineering platform.
• Strong cloud-native services experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Observability with SLOs, alerting, and dashboards (Datadog/Prometheus/Grafana).
• Security-focused platform design including secrets management and encryption.
• Scripting in Python or Go for automation.
• Experience with data tooling (Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, Kafka) is a plus.
• Policy-as-code (OPA/Sentinel) and cost-management on cloud.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the data platform.
• Design and maintain platform infrastructure as code with reusable modules.
• Create CI/CD golden paths for safe data engineering deployments.
• Automate provisioning, access management, and changes.
• Own platform availability, HA, DR, and capacity planning.
• Define and monitor SLOs, alerting, and dashboards.
• Participate in on-call rotations and blameless postmortems.
• Secure platform by design with access control and encryption.
• Improve developer experience and reduce friction for data teams.
• Evaluate new tech and take PoC concepts to production.
