Job summary

Guidepoint, headquartered in Toronto, invites a Senior Platform Engineer to design and own an Internal Developer Platform, enabling self-service environment provisioning and deployment. You’ll scale Azure/AKS across regions, apply Terraform/Terragrunt, and build AI-assisted automation to reduce toil.

You will partner with app teams to improve observability using Datadog, define SLOs, participate in on-call and RCA, and contribute to deployment standards and security practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional Software Development experience with full SDLC and clean code principles.
• 7+ years of Platform Engineering experience running large-scale production environments.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for automation and tool building.
• Experience managing Kubernetes (AKS) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Terragrunt).

Responsibilities

• IDP Architecture & Development: Lead the design and implementation of an Internal Developer Platform with self-service environment scaffolding and deployment.
• Collaborative Infrastructure: Maintain and scale multi-region Azure/AKS environments using Terraform and ArgoCD.
• Reliability Partnership: Implement deep observability via Datadog and establish SLOs.
• AI-Driven Automation: Build Python-based AI agents and tools to reduce toil.
• Full-Lifecycle Ownership: Participate in on-call rotations and lead RCA to improve platform.
• Mentorship & Standards: Review code, document best practices, and standardize deployment and security patterns.
